Heartshare Human Services
Opportunities Through Teamwork
Heartshare Human Services is a non-profit arm of Catholic Charities serving individuals with disabilities and other challenges. They were having a hard time finding the correct space for their daytime rehabilitation center in Brooklyn because general office buildings were not built to suit the unique needs of their clientele.
Where other property managers would have seen all of the reasons they couldn’t make a partnership work, Treeline saw an opportunity to help an organization meet their unique needs while also taking advantage of an underutilized space in one of our properties – a true win-win situation.
What We Did
By The Numbers
- Heartshare Human Services was unable to find an appropriate space for their daytime rehabilitation center
- The nonprofit needed unfettered access to their space for their differently-abled clients
- Treeline created a separate entrance to 177 Livingston with a dedicated accessible elevator, allowing Heartshare to bring their buses of patients directly to their space
- The elevator allowed Heartshare to rent a basement space, often unappealing for potential tenants, which created additional value in the building while allowing Heartshare to have a useful space at a discounted rate
